Campbell crime report for the week of Oct. 2 – The Mercury News
11:50 a.m. in the 600 block of East Campbell Avenue: A man, 50, was causing multiple disturbances and yelling. The suspect initially fled into the creek upon contact. He was eventually contacted and was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself.
Overnight in the 1400 block of South Bascom Avenue: Someone wrote in black marker on a business 75 yards from a bus stop.
3 p.m. in the 1300 block of Pollard Road: Someone forced entry into a residence and stole items.
2:46 a.m. in the 900 block of Gale Drive: Three suspects were contacted in a vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, several needles and heroin were found.
3:44 a.m. in the 300 block of Budd Avenue: Two men, ages 43 and 30, were stopped in a vehicle for a vehicle code violation violation. The 43-year-old had a felony warrant and was under the influence. The 30-year-old had four warrants and was in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
5 p.m. in the 600 block of Laura Drive: Someone broke in to a locked vehicle and took tools. The victim had called the owner of a vehicle that was stolen out of Milpitas to tell them that a male tried using a check that was in his stolen vehicle.
7:35 p.m. at Camden and Curtner avenues: A man, 55, was stopped for a vehicle code violation on a bike. The suspect had a warrant and was reported missing out of Palo Alto. He was also in possession of methamphetamine.
8:37 p.m. in the 500 block of West Rincon Avenue: A man, 19, had a knife in one hand and what appeared to be an ice pick in his other. Several commands were given to the suspect to put the weapons down which he refused to do. The suspect was taken into custody.
Overnight in the 400 block of Industrial St: A 2005 Ford F350 flatbed was stolen.
Overnight in the 500 block of Railway Avenue: Someone forced open the mailboxes for a complex, and mail was located on the creek trail.
9:04 a.m. in the 200 block of Cristich Lane: A man, 30, was unlawfully on the property. The suspect was found to be under the influence of meth and was in possession of someone else’s paycheck. He was in violation of his court probation.
Overnight in the 300 block of Orchard City Drive: Fedex packages were stolen out of a dropbox.
Overnight in the 1000 block of Dell Avenue: A 2002 Haulmark trailer was stolen.
Overnight in the 300 block of Budd Avenue: A 2010 black Harley-Davidson was stolen.
5:22 p.m. in the 500 block of West Hamilton Avenue: A2001 BMW 740 stolen out of Los Gatos was located.
9:02 p.m. in the 1500 block of West Campbell Avenue: A man, 50, entered the store stole a lighter. The clerk intervened as the suspect was leaving, and he threatened to burn the store down. The suspect fled and was located a short distance away.
12:42 a.m. at S. Winchester Boulevard and Camden Avenue: A officer observed a woman, 20, blocking the roadway. The suspect was found to be DUI.
Overnight in the 600 block of Marathon Drive: Someone forced entry into a bank of mailboxes and stole mail.
Overnight in the 900 block of Sharmon Palms Lane: Someone forced entry into a bank of mailboxes and stole mail.
11:25 a.m. in the 300 block of East Campbell Avenue: A man, 63, brandished a knife at a passerby after the victim’s dog urinated on a shop plant.
Overnight in the 600 block of Creekside Way: Someone forced entry into a vehicle and stole a backpack and Gucci sunglasses.
5 p.m. in the 600 block of Creekside Way: A woman, 32, was passed out in her vehicle. An officer arrived and saw the suspect in the process of huffing nitrous oxide from a can. She was found to be too intoxicated to care for herself, and during the contact, she kicked the officer.
11:32 p.m. in the 500 block of West Hamilton Avenue: A man, 32, was reported as a suspicious person and upon contact was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
12:09 a.m. in the 500 block of West Hamilton Avenue: A man, 36, was reported as unconscious inside a vehicle in a parking lot. Upon contact he was found to be under the influence and in possession of meth. Additionally, the vehicle he was in, a white 95 Ford Ranger, was reported stolen out of San Jose. The suspect had a felony warrant.
3 a.m. in the 1700 block of South Winchester Blvd: A man, 48, was reported to be causing a disturbance, and upon contact was found to be under the influence of meth. The suspect was on active parole and, during a search, was found to be in possession of a meth pipe and syringes. The suspect is a convicted felon, and a stun gun was located in his backpack.
5:20 a.m. in the 1600 block of West Campbell Avenue: Someone gained entry into a store via window smash and stole lottery tickets.
7:26 a.m. in the 500 block of West Hamilton Avenue: An officer located a white 2005 Chevrolet Colorado reported stolen out of San Jose.
Overnight in the 300 block of Dunster Drive: Someone cut the brake lines to a vehicle.
1:08 p.m. at Bascom and Hamilton avenues: A man, 55, was standing in the roadway. He was too intoxicated to care for himself.
1:28 p.m. in the 500 block of West Rincon Avenue: A man, 37, was found trespassing inside an unoccupied building. The suspect was also in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Overnight in the 1600 block of Whitwood Lane: The catalytic converter was stolen off a Prius.
4:20 p.m. in the 900 block of Ravenscourt Avenue: A blue 1998 Honda CRV was stolen from a carport.
5:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Adler Avenue: Someone smashed the window of a vehicle. Nothing inside was disturbed or taken.
9:51 p.m. in the 600 block of Creekside Way: A man, 37, was stopped for a vehicle code violation. During a search, the suspect was found to be in possession of meth, heroin and a meth pipe.
1:32 a.m. in the 500 block of East Hamilton Avenue: An officer located a white 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 pick up that was reported stolen out of San Jose.
12:21 p.m. in the 2300 block of South Winchester Boulevard: A suspect, 23, was cited and released for shoplifting.
7:05 p.m. in the 400 block of East Hamilton Avenue: A man 47, stole an angle grinder.
6 p.m. in the Pollard Road and Highway 85: An officer was called out to investigate a suspicious fire near the freeway. It was determined that someone lit a chair on fire in some bushes.
8:31 p.m. at Kennedy Avenue and Winchester Boulevard: A woman, 30, was stopped for a vehicle code violation while driving and consented to a search. Meth and a meth pipe were located in the vehicle. A man, 48, provided a false name to hide four outstanding warrants.
1:16 a.m. at Camden and Curtner avenues: An officer attempted to stop a 2015 Infiniti for vehicle code violations, and the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed, running a red light.
8:10 a.m.: Four cases involving the same suspects occurred one after the other. In the 100 block of East Latimer Avenue, the suspects pulled up to the bank of mailboxes and forced them open with a pry bar; it is unknown if any mail was taken. In the 300 block of East Hamilton Avenue, one of the suspects pried the front door to two businesses but did not gain entry. In the 500 block of Railway Avenue, the suspects stole mail, some of which was recovered during the Latimer incident.
1:25 p.m. in the 400 block of East Hamilton Avenue: Someone shoplifted a $200 air compressor.
1:33 p.m. in the 1600 block of South Bascom Avenue: Someone entered a store and stole several items.
4:52 in the 60 block of West Hamilton Avenue: A passerby reported that a black 2019 Lexus GX4 had been there for the past week. The vehicle was removed.
5:34 p.m. in the 400 block of West Hamilton Avenue: An argument ensued while the victim was talking to the suspect, who was seated in her car. The victim reached for some paperwork in the car, and the suspect rolled up the window, trapping the victim’s arm. The suspect then started driving away, dragging the victim in the process. The victim freed herself.
