Hollywood star Forest Whitaker is sad to be leaving “magnificent” Wales as he heads back to New York City.
The Oscar-winning actor shared a picture of the Welsh landscape to his 208.4K Twitter follower.
In the post, he thanked the Welsh people for the “wonderful welcome” he received – and promised to return soon.
Forest tweeted: “I had to see the magnificent landscapes of #Wales before flying out to back to New York!
“My thanks to everyone for the wonderful welcome I had in your country. I will be back soon.”
The star previously shared his love for ‘beautiful Wales’ when he shared several photos of himself exploring Wales in his free time.
In his previous tweet, he said: “The Oscar-winner tweeted “Enjoying time in the beautiful Wales before going back to set” along with four pictures of himself in Penarth, Cardiff on Tuesday afternoon (August 31).
Principal photography on the new film, which is written and directed by Welsh filmmaker Gareth Edwards, kicked off in Cardiff in July with the release date set for March 2022.
According to Netflix, the story is set after a drug deal goes wrong, when a bruised detective must fight his way through a criminal underworld to rescue a politician’s estranged son, while unravelling a deep web of corruption and conspiracy that ensnares his entire city.
It is not yet known what role Whitaker, who won the Best Actor Oscar for his performance in The Last King of Scotland, will play in the film or if it will be set in Wales.
