Offers of alleged vaccines against the coronavirus are growing dramatically on the darknet, an internet network only accessible with special software known for harboring criminal and untraceable activities, with prices per dose reaching up to $1,000, according to new research from cybersecurity firm Checkpoint. The number of advertisements for vaccines rose by 400% from early December and there are now offers to sell them in bulk, the company reported. In many instances, payment is required via bitcoin, which cannot be traced once payment is made.
