Nitish kicks off vaccination against corona virus in Bihar – United News of India

Patna, Jan 16 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today kicked off vaccination against coronavirus from Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) in the state.
The sweeper of IGIMS Rambabu was administered first dose of the vaccine in presence
of the chief minister on Saturday.
Driver of an ambulance Amit Kumar, Lab Technician Sonu Pandit, Dr Sanat Kumar and
Karan Veer Singh Rathore were also administered the first dose of vaccine.
The chief minister presented citation to honour the front runners getting the vaccine.
Later while talking to the news persons Mr Kumar said here that all preparations were
in place in the state for vaccination which has been taken up at the national level.
Mr Kumar monitored the vaccination program initiated at various centres in the state
from the observation room in IGIMS through webcasting.
The vaccination has been initiated at 300 centres in the state and 100 people would be administered the vaccine at each Centre everyday
Nearly 30,000 people were being administered vaccine on the first day of the vaccination
program in Bihar.
The BJP state president and MP Sanjay Jaiswal begin the vaccination at Patna Medical
College Hospital where the ward attendant Muhammad Iqbal was the first person to get
the vaccine and Nurse Shilu Kumari was the second to receive it in Nalanda Medical
College Hospital Patna the program was initiated by administering the first dose of the
vaccine to a psychiatrist Doctor Santosh Kumar Singh.
